Minor Operations

We offer minor surgical procedures to remove benign skin lumps such as moles, cysts, lipomas, or other blemishes. These conditions are rarely serious, but they can be uncomfortable. If you’ve been living with a lump that causes friction, is cosmetically unwelcome, or makes you anxious, removal is a quick, safe, and effective way to resolve the issue.

What’s the service?

Minor surgery can remove small lumps or skin changes, such as moles, cysts, or lipomas, that you’d prefer not to live with. Many of these growths are harmless, but they can be uncomfortable, unsightly, or cause irritation — and having them removed can improve both comfort and confidence.

What’s involved?

The area is cleaned and numbed with local anaesthetic, so you won’t feel pain during the removal itself. The lesion is then carefully excised, and if necessary, the wound is closed with stitches or a small dressing. The entire process usually can take less than half an hour depending on the size of the lesion, and patients can return home after the appointment. Afterwards, we’ll explain how to care for the area while it heals, and offer return visits for stitch removal or a wound check.

Where appropriate, we can send the excision for histology, where it’s examined to ensure there are no concerning features that warrant onward referral. Where further referral or investigation is required we will arrange this with you.

Why might I want this?

If you have a lump or lesion that bothers you — whether for cosmetic reasons, discomfort, or because it catches on clothing or jewellery — minor surgery can provide a simple and lasting solution. Removal can also give peace of mind if you’ve been concerned about a skin change and want clarity.
