Meet Dr Sarah Ord

“Patients want to feel listened to, understood and taken seriously. They value honesty, clear explanations and a doctor who’s approachable, thorough and willing to work with them to find the best solution.”

For Dr Ord, medicine has always been about bringing together science and people. She was drawn to a career where she could solve problems, build long-term relationships and make a meaningful difference to people’s lives, wherever those lives might take them.

General practice proved to be the perfect fit. It offers the opportunity to care for people through every stage of life, often over many years, building the trust and understanding that make healthcare truly personal.

Her experience during the COVID-19 pandemic reinforced one belief above all others: while technology has an important role to play in modern healthcare, there’s simply no substitute for sitting down with a patient, hearing their story and examining them properly. Face-to-face consultations remain at the heart of how she practises medicine today.

Colleagues describe Dr Ord as approachable, pragmatic and dependable, qualities that reflect her calm, thoughtful approach both inside and outside the consulting room.

Approach to Patient Care

“Good communication builds trust and leads to better healthcare decisions.”

Many diagnoses become clearer simply by listening carefully. Understanding your concerns, expectations and personal circumstances is often just as important as the examination or investigations.

You expect a friendly, thorough and evidence-based consultation where you’ll have time to explain what’s worrying you, ask questions and fully understand your options. Dr Ord believes that good healthcare should never feel rushed or confusing. Instead, she aims to explain complex medical information clearly, involve you in decisions about your care and develop treatment plans that fit your individual circumstances.

Her goal is simple: improving quality of life through practical, evidence-based care.
