Mental Health Support

A dedicated pathway for anxiety, depression and emotional wellbeing

Mental health affects every part of life: your relationships, work, physical health, confidence and ability to enjoy everyday experiences.

Many people struggle for months or years before seeking help. Others have received treatment before, but feel they need a more personal, considered approach. Our Mental Health Support service provides dedicated support from experienced GPs who take the time to understand the full picture, not just your symptoms.

Understanding what you’re going through

A standard NHS GP appointment is designed around addressing an immediate concern. Mental health requires something different.

It requires time to:

  • understand your experiences
  • explore contributing factors
  • assess risk and severity
  • discuss treatment options
  • build trust and confidence

Our approach combines clinical expertise with continuity of care, providing support for people who need more than a single consultation but do not necessarily require ongoing specialist psychiatric care.

A personalised approach to care

There’s no single solution for mental health. Depending on your situation, support may involve:

  • Understanding your symptoms and possible causes
  • Lifestyle changes that support mental wellbeing
  • Talking therapies and psychological support
  • Medication where appropriate
  • Reviewing existing medication and its effectiveness
  • Managing physical and emotional health together
  • Referring to specialist services where needed

We help you understand your options so that decisions about your care are made together.

Your journey with us

We have designed an initial support pathway to provide the time, continuity and follow-up needed when someone first seeks help with their mental health. The exact care plan will always be tailored to your circumstances, but most patients begin with a structured period of assessment, treatment planning and review.

For £599, you get:

✓ 60-minute comprehensive mental health assessment
✓ 3 Follow-up reviews with the same clinician
✓ Personalised treatment planning
✓ Medication reviews
✓ Discussion of psychological support options
✓ Coordination of referrals where required
✓ Advice and guidance on next steps
✓ Package discount vs booking ad hoc appointments

A structured pathway to help you understand, manage and improve your mental health

Starting conversations about mental health can feel difficult, especially when you are unsure what support you need or what happens next. Our Mental Health Support pathway has been designed to provide more than a single appointment. It gives you dedicated time with the same clinician to understand your situation, develop a personalised plan and review how things are progressing.

Most patients begin with an initial three-month pathway, providing the continuity and follow-up needed to establish trust, assess what is working and make adjustments where needed.

Appointment 1

Comprehensive assessment

Your first appointment is a lengthened 60-minute consultation, and provides time to explore your experiences in depth.

We will discuss:

  • Your current symptoms and concerns
  • How they’re affecting your life
  • Previous experiences and treatments
  • Physical health factors that may influence wellbeing
  • Your goals

We’ll agree a personalised care plan and discuss the most appropriate next steps.

Appointment 2

Continued support

The first of your follow-up consultations will typically be 2 weeks after your initial appointment, and will be with the same clinician that you spoke with initially. That continuity of regular care is important to provide the best possible care as we continue together.

If medication is started, early review is important to understand how you are responding, discuss any side effects and answer questions.

This appointment also provides an opportunity to review your wider care plan and make sure you feel supported as treatment begins.

Appointment 3

Progress review

Follow-up consultations will be booked at regular intervals in each of the next two months, so that your first three months of care with us is proactively managed.

These reviews focus on progress:

  • Is your treatment helping?
  • Are symptoms improving?
  • Are there barriers preventing progress?
  • Does your care plan need to change?

Where appropriate, medication adjustments or additional support options may be discussed.

Appointment 4

Ongoing care

Your fourth session, in your third month with us, will look at your longer-term progress and next steps.

Together, we will consider:

  • How you can continue managing your mental health going forward
  • How you are responding to treatment
  • Whether your current approach remains appropriate
  • Whether further support or referrals would be beneficial

Following this appointment we will continue to support you with whatever frequency of appointments we agree will best support your continued progress.

Common Questions

No. Many people seek support before they have a formal diagnosis.

You may be experiencing anxiety, stress, low mood, difficulty coping, sleep problems, changes in confidence, or simply feel that your mental wellbeing is not where you would like it to be.

An assessment can help you understand what you are experiencing and identify appropriate next steps.

No. Medication is only one possible part of mental health care and is not appropriate or necessary for everyone.

We take time to understand your circumstances and discuss the options available, which may include lifestyle changes, psychological support, self-management strategies, medication or referral to specialist services where appropriate.

This depends on your circumstances and what you need support with.

Some patients may need a single consultation to understand their options and next steps. Others may benefit from follow-up reviews to assess progress and adjust their care plan over time.

If your circumstances change, we can help you review your care and identify the appropriate next steps.

If you experience an urgent mental health crisis, you should seek immediate support through urgent care services or emergency support pathways rather than waiting for a routine appointment.

No, your visit stays private.

What we support

Anxiety

Anxiety is one of the most common reasons people seek mental health support, but it can affect people in very different ways. For some, it may feel like persistent worry that is difficult to control. For others, it may involve sudden episodes of panic, physical symptoms, avoidance of situations, or a feeling of always being on edge.

Where appropriate, we help with practical strategies, psychological approaches, medication options and referrals for specialist support as needed.

Depression and Low Mood

Depression can affect much more than mood. It can influence energy levels, motivation, sleep, relationships, work and the ability to enjoy everyday activities. Some people experience a clear episode of depression, while others feel they have been struggling with low mood, stress or reduced wellbeing for a long time without knowing why.

Where treatment is started, we provide structured follow-up to understand whether it is helping, monitor any side effects and adjust your care plan as needed.

Trauma-Related Difficulties

Where appropriate, we can provide initial assessment, support and referral pathways.

Obsessive-Compulsive Symptoms

We can assess symptoms and help determine appropriate next steps, including referral to specialist services where diagnosis or specialist treatment is required.

Neurodiversity

We can discuss concerns relating to conditions such as ADHD and autism, including supporting referral pathways for specialist assessment.
