Ultrasound Referrals
Ultrasound scans help doctors see inside the body safely and comfortably using sound waves. They’re often used for abdominal symptoms, soft tissue concerns, pregnancy, or checking blood flow.

What’s the service?
Ultrasound scans use sound waves to create real-time images of structures inside the body. They are commonly used to assess organs, soft tissues, blood flow, and pregnancy-related concerns.
Ultrasound scans are a safe and effective way to investigate symptoms without radiation. They’re especially useful for looking at soft tissues and internal organs.
What’s involved?
Following assessment by your GP, we can arrange an ultrasound scan through our diagnostic partner at Lyca Health Orpington. During the scan, a small handheld device is moved gently across the skin using a water-based gel to produce images. The procedure is painless, non-invasive, and usually completed within 15–45 minutes. Images are reviewed by specialists before results are discussed with you.

Why might I want this?
Ultrasound scans are useful for investigating abdominal pain, swelling, lumps, joint problems, and many other conditions. They provide safe, detailed imaging without radiation exposure.
